Communications specialist and survivor Manya Chylinski helps people whose lives have been touched by trauma understand how resiliency and compassion are part of the path to healing, to enable them to live their best lives. She uses her experience as a survivor of the Boston Marathon bombing to help others understand the importance of recognizing the psychological impacts of violence.
Manya and I chatted about mental health advocacy and the birthplace of empathy, how we talk about emotional trauma—to break the stigma and make the invisible visible, using my experience to stand up for those without a voice and help individuals and organizations understand the impact of trauma.
